Well many people have been wondering what exactly Tokyo Life actually is. Well today, Champ, KOS2 winner Ting, and myself decided to go check it out.
Baically, Selfridges has been "Jap-afied" if that's the right word! They are now selling lots of cool Japanese stuff, from cute little Doreamon toys, to Jap water! They've also hired a lot of Japanese staff to make the whole exhibition seem more authentic probably.
As for DDR - well there are 3 machines, each on different floors of the store. Sadly, I don't know exactly where all the machines are, but if you have a wander round, I'm sure you'll find one :) Personally, I don't think the machines are in any great locations - it seems as if they've just been plonked in random places. The good news is that all machines are on freeplay and all the songs have been unlocked! The machines are available to play for free throughout the entire exhibtion, so if you aren't performing, go check it out anyway!
The show doesn't seem to have much else, although saying that, we didn't exactly go exploring. There are some DreamCast games to play on the bottom floor, while there is also a stage where Japanese bands/comedians etc perform.
One extremely funky thing that was there was this cool...thing...called STAR (I think). Basically, its this huge darkened stage. Once you enter it, you will see that one wall is covered entirely in screaming fans! In the middle of this "stage" is a microphone. Go to it and SHOUT as loud as you can. The louder you shout or scream, the louder the fans will cheer for you. The first time you do it, you will be overwhelmed. I don't think I've ever had as much fun shouting in an empty room before. Check it out - this puts DDR to shame!
