According to the really 'cool teenage magazine 'New Monday' in Hong Kong, the editors and other cultural icons nominated BEMANI to be the 34th must hit item out of the top 50!
In the little article they wrote, the trend of videogames this year would be large interactive games, such as those redemption games where you grab lollies or tickets out.
Music games would also survive for the next 12 months! Hip-Hop music will gain its popularity this year after the really successful 'Beatmania 6thMix: UK Underground Music' and Jazz music would start to take notice by people. Eurobeat (as used in ParaPara dance) would start to phase out so itz highly unlikely that the next DDR or Beatmania game would have any. Electronic, Techno, RnB and Rock would be the major music types in the future music games.
Fighting games would be phased out this year since the closure of SNK (which is said to re-open soon), Capcom switching its resources to survival-horror and other types of games, Namco's Tekken 4 was a majr disapointment, Sammy's Guilty Gears XX is not out yet so the only game out there supporting the genre is Virtua Fighter 4 by Sega.
If the predictions come true, then all music game players would benefit alot and we'll have a bloody great time for the next 12 months playing more (and maybe even more) quality music games and endless sequals (give me DDR 7thMix!)
