After playing basically all day yesterday, here are my feelings. They may
differ from yours, and I would like to hear what you have to say:
THE POSITIVE:
-The song selection interface is EXCELLENT. Kayan (friend of mine) even
found a way (accidentally) to sort the songs under the first alphabetical
letter.
-The sudden pauses in certain songs. At first I hated it, but then I
thought, wow, that's so cool.
-2 Unlimited. Old-school techno fun.
-"Healing Vision" is the COOLEST SONG!!! It will rock your world!
THE HO-HUM:
-The new songs. Many are ok, some are dumb, and a few are great.
-New mix of Afronova & Paranoia. They sound the same to me; not much of a
remix.
-Scoring system has changed. Don't know how, but it has. The best rating I
got was a B, and I *think* I saw someone even get an A. Most people were
getting C's and D's.
-"Moonlight Shadow" I have been listening to this song years ago. I am glad
the put it in DDR, but the version they put in is not that great.
-"Dancing All Alone" is one incredible song, but I don't much like the steps
& I have a feeling it is going to be the next Butterfly. Too bad, it's such
a nice song.
-60 FPS is nice, but I was hoping for Para Para quality graphics in this
upgrade.
-Announcer seems to talk less, this can be a good or bad thing depending on
how you feel.
-Character selection. Who really watches the characters anyways? Besides,
the left player always seems to select the baby, and the right player
almost
always selects the girl with the suspenders hanging on the waist.
THE NEGATIVE:
-britney spears. oopps I DDRed again. Bust out some n-sync and then we all
should be happy.
-3 minute songs. You plain just get too tired. Plus imagine tournaments
when
people chose songs of that length.
-3 minute versions of B4U & Dynamite Rave. Just what we needed!
-One player puts in coins & presses start, gets to mode selection. 2nd
player does the same, but NO you can't jump in, you gotta wait. I saw this
happen many times last night to me & others.
-The removal of previous songs from 4th Mix. I don't know which ones, because I was playing the new songs the whole time, but this is what I have
heard.
-They didn't kill Butterfly. That song needs to die.
-We still have the SAME announcer since 3rd Mix.
CONCLUSION:
-It's different. It's growing on me. Maybe if they make a 5th Mix Plus we
will all be happy.
