Perfect Step Sound Party Over @ 5/28/2001 3:12:56 AM
Well, RTF's 10th DDR comp is over once again. We're still not sure of the results, however a lot of people and places did well. I think everyone was shocked when we found out Japan was competing against us as well (!). I think we were even more shocked when we found them not kicking the boogers out of us. Here in Brisbane it went pretty well...the Expert section was quite good, and although most people didn't get a full combo on Saint Goes Marching (Remix), we knew Melbournites would fare the worst in that song due to their poor balance of 4th MIX machines...Perfect Attack was great fun once again, even though we in Brisbane had to do round 2 twice because we did it in Nonstop the first time and Japan didn't...we all had fun when we got to the Semi's (I think) and 'Only You' came up. Most of the people still around (it was about 5pm Sunday!) were all doing 'hands up' style performances! A lot of people including myself entered Expert Double even though we had no hope of winning, but we had fun anyway, and that's what counts. In Brisbane on Saturday night about 16 of us got together and went to a Korean Restaurant for dinner as well, where we had to BBQ our own food (which was odd). Unfortunately, nobody at the table I was at knew how to cook, so we proceded to try to cook it on a dimly lit flame. After a while we cranked up the heat, and carnage followed. On Sunday night, after the comp, for some reason some of us decided to try running up a pillar to see who could get the highest or something, then we went to dinner again (but it wasn't formal this time). After this we decided to go to Timezone to abuse their 2 players for 1 credit 'Joint Game Premium' setting by trying to set scores on Unison, freestyling and eventually having a hopscotch contest, and after we got kicked out 3 of us went back to Replay and just decided to freestyle to songs in Pops B. Which was fun until the machine got unplugged to put in a vaccum cleaner! :)

All in all, it rocked, and the next competition is in September. Practice performances now...who knows? The next comp might be exclusively 5th MIX, not 4th MIX...

Forgot to mention, you can view pics from the two days of competition on the link below (at the time, only day 1 is available - but day 2 is being worked on, be patient!)
