Euromix Gets PSX Sequal Next Month @ 6/9/2001 1:30:30 AM
It's 99% official - the next Playstation Dancing Stage game will appear in July.

After a lot of speculation and guessing, videogame store Game finaly bust Konami's bubble, by revealing that the European conversion of Dance Dance Revolution : Disney's Rave will be shipped to the UK in July.

Interestingly, Konami have changed the game's name from the arguably more famous "Dance Dance Revolution" moniker, to the European "Dancing Stage" label, releasing the game as 'Dancing Stage : Disney Mix', and touting it as a sequal to Euromix.

This opens MANY questions, most obviously, the fate of an arcade release. For the uninitiated, Disney Rave is arguably considered the greatest game in the DDR series, featuring :

* 25 Eurobeat songs from Avex Tracks, the same people who provided the music in Para Para Paradise.

* Songs of upto 10-step difficulty - the hardest songs in DDR.

* A dedicated 2-player battle game, where players compete against each other, while attempting to launch 'attacks' on the other player, instigating Sudden, Hidden, Shuffle, High Speed, and other disorienting modes of play.

In short, Disney Rave would certainly be considered a welcome improvement to any arcade in the country. The prospect of playing Night Of Fire in Battle Mode is surely reason enough to hope for an arcade release of Konami's newest game.

On the downside, Konami have all but buried any chance of a new arcade release this summer. Their website is touting a "very exciting new sports game" will be released next month, but that's all but certainly going to be MoCap Boxing. They've also ruled out the possibility of any more new releases until Autumn.

We'll keep you posted on this, right after we make a few phone calls ^_^
