Mark's Extra Mix Review @ 6/16/2001 2:57:39 AM
ok ok

My first ever news report!!! and maybe last, who knows? :p

where to start!!!!!

firstly i swear this is a promo disk for Be For U... why???
The first track you release is Be For U - Dive.
The game ending, is a video of a Be For U photo shoot :p
Thirdly, as you are playing and unlocking stages, you are also unlocking different bits of info about the Dive members, as well as pics!!!

But i love Be For You, and they sooo Kawaii!!! :) (cute)

As for the WTF part
Many of the tracks on double...have only the steps on one side, player 1 side... They are infact the same steps u'd play on 1 player games, but yet this is double... strange.
So what the hell have konami done, maybe its something to do with it being a "backed-up" version.
To add to this in solo (6 panel mode) a few tracks seem to just have the regular 4 panel steps, with neither of the 2 extra arrows appearing. These gain just match the one player arrows rather than being any different.

So is this an error in the hacked version, or have Konami put no effort into this game whatsoever???

Anyone wanna get an original to find out???

and a few things here for people who are interested::

:double stages that follow 1p steps:
*Temple of Love
*Love Machine
*Dream a Dream
*Dont Clock Me
*Sky High
*My Baby Mama
*Strut ur Funky Stuff
*Samba de Janeiro

:Solo steps that follow 1p steps:
*Dive - Be For U
*Remember You

**to note 2 mixes of let the beat hit em have the same steps in 1 player mode lol

order of track releases, numbers indicate number of stages played before releasing track :)
5. Dive - Be For U
20.I'm Alive - Remix
30.Together Forever - Remix
40. Rememer You
50. Let the Beat Hit Em - BM IIDX Version
60. Broken My Heart
70. Let the Beat Hit Em - Classic R'n'B Style
80. Groove 2001
90. Afronova Primevil

ok thats enuf from me

Neil's Explanation for the Double/6Panel steps

As you may know, Extra Mix is a PSX compilation of 3 DDR games (Solo 2000, Solo Bass Mix, 4th Mix Plus). The point was to make sure all the DDR songs were availible to PSX DDR players, thus completing the PSX DDR series.

The 'Solo' series came out between 2nd Mix and 3rd Mix in the arcades, and introduced the 6Panel modes. Konami have brought the Solo 2000 SONGS to the PSX, but the excellent engine, and gameplay modes that made Solo 2000 so great have been dropped. Obviously, since Solo 2000 only has one stage, there was no Double mode in the game.

However, SOME of the Solo songs were included in 4th Mix, in the arcades, and were given double steps for the game.

Likewise, DDR 5th Mix does't have a 6Panel mode, so all the songs from 5th Mix don't have 6Panel steps..

Hope this clears it up..
